Crazy interesting topic. I think priorities in life have a lot to do with why people get married – its not the same for everyone. For some people, contentment comes from more than the quality of the relationship. Do I think its the smartest move to make? Absolutely not lol but I know that people can make something work if they have the same foundation or bottom line interest. The risk with that though is that the marriage can easily end when someone comes along who offers a stronger version of that foundation. Like you said – if the value of the person is not there, then the marriage is always at risk. Does that make sense?

It makes A LOT of sense. Yes I know “to each their own” for the reasons one decides to marry another. People just can’t be surprised that when things hit the fan that the spouse is a no show emotionally.
