Saturday thoughts: What I’ve learned from Kendrick Lamar’s “Element.”

As I stated in my birthday recap post, hubby and I went to the “Damn.” concert, which starred my one of my favorite artists, Kendrick Lamar. The song Element has been weighing heavy on my mind and here is what I’ve learned….
When pursuing your passion feels discouraging
“You know careers take off, you just gotta be patient”. Patience, is the major key. We get excited about the possibility of what could be but we either compare ourselves to others or lack confidence. We all do this, but when do the excuses stop? When does being scared of success stop? We have to CONTINUE. Even if you move slow with your passion just don’t stop. 
Don’t let them take you out your Element
The enemy is moving quickly and working hard to take us off track. This is when self-doubt happens and those “little voices” tell us that it won’t work. Even if you have a moment of doubt, don’t let many see that. They will feed off of it and let’s face it, people are always “watching”. So, don’t miss a beat!

Hello to 32!

Hi friends!

On 7/23 (yesterday lol) I turned 32! I had a fun filled birthday and I’m excited for my New Year. 

I’m blessed to see 32. I’m blessed to have a great support system of family and friends that truly love me and encourage me. I see great things to come and I’m ready for the ride! 


After church service, we went to the Barclay Center in Brooklyn. Hubby’s gift to me was tickets to the DAMN. tour. Kendrick Lamar is one of my favorite rappers and I’m still on a “high” from the energy level of the show! Of course at 32, I felt it this morning lol! Travis Scott and D.R.A.M. performed as well and it was Great! I’m so happy we were able to go! 

So that’s how I brought in 32! Anyone else has a birthday in July? Leo season is amongst us lol! Thanks for reading!

Don’t force it!

To my wonderful people:

Please remember the above statement. Many of us love hard and have big hearts. A lot of times, those big hearts get taken for granted or broken. When that happens, we must remember that those toxic individuals or things are not for Us. 
From a Faith Standpoint
God doesn’t bless mess. If it’s of God, you would have to fight, beg or plead for it to work. There is a plan set for us, but that thing or person just might have been a detour that we need it to continue to our successful path. 
Please don’t stay down or give up. Things will turn around and you will be great! Hang in there!

I do believe we are given the answers that we seek but we don’t pay attention or refuse to listen. Most of the time, the answer is presented right in our face. Have you ever prayed or mediataring about something and it finally presented itself?

The vicious cycle

Eveyone has a past. Every Past has hurt and pain. They say History repeats itself. Therefore, a vicious cycle returns. Do we have to encourage that? Can we be apart of a group that says “I’m not going to repeat those actions”? 

Face the Facts

Families suffer from drug and alcohol abuse, finances, infidelity, lack of education, gang lifestyles and the list goes on. You don’t have to fall into those categories. You can choose to learn what Not to do. You can get out of a toxic environment. You don’t have to fall victim.

I pray and hope this can reach someone. We know many who need to end this cycle, including ourselves.
