Motivational Mondays: can we ever get out of dreadful Monday’s syndrome?

Hi friends! Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommies and we will remember those who are no longer living.

After a wonderful weekend, people always have the feeling of “urg it’s Monday tomorrow”. However, I do know some who are eager to see Monday and they treat it as if it were Friday.  Is the anxiety of Mondays due to unhappiness at work? For many, this is probably the answer. How do we change that?

For some the answer can be as simple as quit your job. Even though the uneployment rate is steadily decreasing, it’s still extremely hard to find work and make the money that’s deserved. So many have anxiety to Mondays because of the frustrations that comes with going into the office. Some are not happy with the facility or colleagues therefore the mood is in all time low or they are on edge.

Another option is to change our congnitions and speak positive affirmations into the new work week. We can affirm:

  1. This will be a better work week.
  2. I’m thankful to have a source of income.
  3. Even if this is not where I plan to retire, I will use this as a stepping stool.

When we place those affirmations into existence, we begin to believe it and we will achieve it. 

I hope and pray that we all do get better with the “dreadful Mondays syndrome”. Rather it’s getting a new career, becoming an entrepreneur, or a change of attitude, let’s get it done. We have to bring our own sunshine wherever we go, we hold the key to our success!

Motivational Mondays: we should stop putting age limits on our Goals

The link above is video shared my Idris Elba. He asks people the question, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” of course, many laughed and states that they were grown up, however when do you stop growing? 🤔
We all have had dreams or goals we want to do, but we reach a point where we just put that dream on the back burner. Is it because it didn’t happen by the age we wanted it to? Did “life” happen? I’ll be first to admit that when I was younger, I wanted to become a wife, mother and Psychologist. Professionally, I want to obtain my doctorate degree and I wanted to open a family center to help all people. I feel like once I was diagnosed with MS that was a curve ball that wasn’t expected. I began to concentrate on other things that were more important, family. Steve and I got married and we eventually became parents. So, I’ve achieved two things, but I still haven’t accomplished the final piece. Once I stopped putting age limits on stuff my mind changed. Once I said I don’t know if it will happen, now it’s I WILL get my cherry on top, God willing. 
We also have this attitude that if we don’t do certain things by certain ages, we either failed or will never accomplish them. I feel a lot of television and fairy tales are the cause for this. We have this thought that by this age, I should finish school, I should be in my dream career by that time, this age, I should get married or at least fall in love, I should have kids by this time in life, I should own a home/condo at this point. We place pressure on ourselves and it hurts when these things aren’t fulfilled. 

Imagine if we as a people could just live. Imagine as we are growing and evolving, we can say I’m ready to take the leap. Instead of family and society filling our heads with time limits, we take our time and just worry about ourselves and our creations. This can be us friends, we need to make that choice.

You see this quote above? It’s the truth and a fact of life. For some of us, things that we want can come easy and to others it seems like the struggle is unbearable. I say to you that anything worth having is worth the struggle, the blood, sweat and tears. Hang in there!! Keep going!!

Motivational mondays: daily affirmations 

Hi friends!

Today is a good day to be awesome! Why you ask? Because you made it to see another day. I try to tell myself this daily. I know it’s not easy because of the things we struggle with but if we tell ourselves these daily reminders it can help. 

  1. I’m not perfect and that’s fine.
  2. Even when it rains, I’ll bring my own sunshine.
  3. Today, I will love myself more than yesterday.
  4. I can be a better family member and friend.
  5. I will follow my dreams.

If you practice any faith, I also recommend praying or meditating as well. Hang in there friends, trust and believe you are not alone. Things will improve, slowly but surely.

Feel Good Fridays: work on self instead of wishing for others production

 Hi all!

Happy Friday! I hope this week was a good one and I hope the weekend is an even better one. You all know that I love Pinterest and the quotes that other post. But this one stuck out. 
The sayings goes “people always believe the grass is always greener on the other side”. I believe the grass is greener where it gets proper nourishment. So when I saw this quote I was too excited because the writer truly nailed it! 
Why should you spend your days worrying about the next person or trying to keep up with the “Jones'”? Work on self and you will reap the benefits. I’m always watching these beautiful models with their awesome physique and then I get down and say I wish it were me. Some I can consider inspiration and I will follow what they are doing to maintain their “perfect” body and once again I’m comparing myself. After a while I have come to the conclusion that if I want to be in better shape, I need to start from within. Earlier this month, I had blood work done and my new doctor called me one night and gave me the run down of everything. I knew my glucose level was probably high, and I have a history of high cholesterol. Therefore, I was extremely nervous to hear my results. To my surprised, I was doing better than I thought! My cholesterol is now considered borderline high, which, when I was 22 it was extremely high and my old physician said I could have a heart attack by 25. My glucose levels are in between but I’m not diabetic, thank God! So, he has me on a 3 month plan to exercise more and choose better food options. I know for myself, I also need to concentrate or stress management. 
Instead of concentrating on other figures of others, I will focus on getting myself healthier. I believe when that happens, so will the physique I wish to have, will come too. Friends, I hope this can be applied to you and in your life. This can be about finances, career, lifestyles and relationships. If you nurture yours, you will see results. Hope this helps! I will admit that I’m my toughest critic. Even when it comes to this blog, there are times when I think “ok not much responses equals I suck at this” lol. Even when it comes to family and friends, I’m always thinking what can I do to be a better wife, mother,  family member and friend or bring awareness to MS? The truth is…..

I AM DOING THR BEST THAT I CAN! 

Guess what?…. So are YOU!

It’s one day at a time and you are only one person. Things will get better. You will meet goals, gain those visions, get that relationship, things WILL be fine. So smile for now and know you are doing your best!

Where is the love Wednesday: people who Are in the audience for your downfall

Hi all,

If it’s something I’ve learned in these past years is that, not all who clap for you Are for you. This was hard for me to accept because I try to see the good in everyone. 
The unfortunate thing is that a lot of times this happens with family, friends and colleagues. The “crab in the barrel” syndrome of not wanting to see others do better than yourself so you pull them down anyway you can. 
When you start to see the actions of others or even hear sly remarks, get those individuals out of your environment. Those negative vibes can effect your mental state, ambitions and happiness. Please don’t give them that power and let them go. 
So try to be care of who is in your circle and those who are “clapping” for you. Not all are genuine and they are truly clapping for your downfall.

Hi all!

This is my view from our room in Nassau Bahamas. I must say that it is absolutely beautiful. Things in my life have been such a roller coaster and I’m so happy to share some time alone with Stephen. It’s times like this when you realize that you do have to regroup and recharge yourself mentally, spiritually and emotionally. The peacefulness of the waters offers that alone.
