The MS fight continues after a great weekend.. oh Hey Selma Blair!

Hola friends! Happy Tuesday!

I hope you all are doing well. I’m doing ok! Over the weekend, the family and I had a nice family trip. The Kalahari indoor water park is a MUST go! I felt like I was youthful again, as I splashed around and was drenched by the water falls lol. Returning back home, was good up until last night.

My legs are on Fire! It’s uncomfortable to walk and I feel exhausted. How could it be? After having a great weekend, playing in the water? Oh the water! For MS patients, water helps to keep the body temperatures cool. No wonder, I felt my best at the resort. Today is treatment day. Usually after a few days from the Tysabri being administered, I “perk” up a bit. I’m looking forward to that because I was spoiled this weekend lol.

Nonetheless, your girl is staying strong and I will keep Pushing. I pray that you can do the same. Regardless of the challenges, don’t give up on yourself and keep going!

Before signing off, shout out to my fellow MS Warrior Selma Blair at the Oscar’s!! Rocking her cane and slurred speech, she looked Stunning!

Motivational Monday: Masterpiece

Reflecting….

Why try to be someone else when you are wonderfully made as yourself? We all may be similar in traits, but we are Not the same. From the hairs on our scalps to our fingerprints, we have our own significance.

We have to apply this to our thought process. Many of us are a product if our environment and believe that’s the only way to be. In my opinion that doesn’t have to be the final answer. Just as I mentioned in a previous post, we can create our Own success story. With the proper mindset, tools, and opportunity, anything is possible.

Therefore, Be the Masterpiece that you are. Seek to find your peace, your truth, your awareness, and inner love. You don’t have to be like anyone else, you have a choice, I urge for you to choose YOU.

We fall down

Hi friends, Happy Sunday!

I hope all is well.

People often ask me if I’m in pain when I fall down or how often does it happen. In the beginning, I used to be scared. However, my family and friends have been with me each step of the way so I’m never down for long. Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s frustrating to fall or have the sensation of falling but I’m stronger because of it. I’m stronger not only physically but mentally as well.

I’m a proud Warrior and Survivor battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS). With that being said, I know the importance of cognitive thinking which has an influence on our attitude. I’m a woman of grace, courage and wisdom therefore, I won’t give up.

Friends, I know not all who follow me are MS Warriors, many battle other auto-immune diseases, mental illness and much more. This message is for all no matter the circumstance. Things may fall apart in your life, you may feel like things are piling up on top of you but I urge for you to continue. Slowly but surely RISE from your challenges and don’t be ashamed of the falls. You are going to be Ok!

If you ever need someone to talk to, I’m here. We are in this journey together so please don’t feel alone. Thank you all for reading!

Doing for You!

Hi Friends! Happy Motivational Monday!

I know it’s been some time since I’ve blogged, but hey, I’m here 😊. Life, has been busy, and I also wasn’t feeling the best. I was battling a chest cold (which I hope is just about gone! 🤞🏾) and it just wiped me out. I hope if any of you might have caught the sniffles that you feel better as well.

This post today will be brief but my intent is for it to give substance. How often do you do for You? Many of us are spouses, parents, professionals, scholars in academia, volunteers for many causes and more. We are constantly on the go, we do so much for others and at times get caught in a whirlwind. This is great, however, do we find the time to schedule some “self” time?

I can admit, I get caught up with my family, friends, and work life that I don’t always make “Me Time”. I know it’s a selfless act, but in the long run, I see how it crashes down. I find myself worrying about unnecessary things in my life, all because I’m consumed in other factors instead of the “Me” factor.

If someone would have said to me 10 years ago that I needed to dedicate more “Me” time, I would have said “Isn’t that being selfish?“. Guess what? It’s ok to be “selfish” for your needs. It can and will make you happier in the meantime and down the road.

What are the things that you do for you? Have you found this to be beneficial? How would you recommend this to others? Let me know in the comments!

As always, thanks for reading friends! 😁

Create your Own Story

Hi friends!

I know it’s been a while since I’ve blogged, but please know that I have missed being present and your presence!

One of the last videos that I did was in reference to our Story not being finished yet and that it’s only a chapter. To piggyback off of that, we NEED to focus on creating our OWN Story.

In Romantic relationships, many of us watch romantic movies or hear love songs and we think about wanting that happily ever after. We view our family dynamics, judge our friends’ relationships and are eager for all those great experiences to become ours.

We are taught during High school to attend college for a better future and then feel defeated when life doesn’t play out that way. So much pressure of what “success” is suppose to look like in our lives doesn’t always equal how we are living.

We need to create our Own love stories and our Own Success stories. What worked for some may not work for you. Be patient, go at your own pace. The work that you put into a relationship or your work is what the universe will bring back out. Find Peace and Happiness within yourselves and go from there.

I hope this post helps and I hope we all can have peace and happiness in our own personal journeys. Thanks for reading!

Gratefulness…

Hey beautiful people,

You ever looked back over past situations and thought about how thankful you were because of the outcome? The hard times you experienced and how Far you have truly come and what You’ve become? I do too.

Quite often, especially when I’m in midst of the storm (as mentioned in my last post), I try to keep things in perspective and know that there is good present. Our cognitive thoughts has a big effect on us and with little reminders that our Story isn’t over yet can be helpful.

This is one reason, I’m able to still find some joy and happiness despite battling MS, and grieving for my loved ones. I know that with my faith, I’m not alone. I know that I’m not taking the Brunt of the Battle. I’m human, you’re human, we have to take it one day at a time.

I hope this helps someone today. I know what you are currently experiencing is tough but you’re tougher. It could seem like you will never find happiness but with finding Peace, happiness can follow. You have a meaning regardless of what you’ve heard. Please, hold on.

Peace….. Happiness

So much weighs on our minds.

Too much weighs on our hearts.

For many of us, we have to take everything that we deal with, one day at a time.

All the tasks aren’t getting done due to us being overwhelmed with the many distractions that get in the way.

How do we overcome this? How do we find balance? How do we find happiness? My suggestion is to get Peace first.

Having peace is vital and it can help us see the “BIG” picture clearer. We could possibly find solutions to things that are problematic. With Peace comes Acceptance and Happiness will follow not too far behind. Have you struggled with finding happiness? Do you believe you have peace in your life? I’m working on it and pray to get there one day! I hope the same for you all as well.
