Feel good Friday’s : thoughts on my recent 30th birthday and thoughts of where we “should” be in life.

Hi all!!

So on yesterday, July 23rd, I turned 30 years old. In the past, the older I turned, I either was emotional because I felt I wasn’t where I was “suppose” to be or extremely excited. As I looked in the mirror yesterday I said to myself that I didn’t look a day over 25! Lol so my face was in constant bliss.

A few days before, a coworker said to me, “Nikki at 30, you have accomplished so much. You are married, have a son, job and your own place. Much better than it was for me when I turned 30. I just thought I’d be in a different place in life”. This “place” in life and where we are “supposed” to be is difficult and is not fair to ourselves.

I’ve done this  when I turned 25. I was sad because I felt that things weren’t mapped out like I wanted them to be and life was a tornado in my head. I wasn’t engaged yet ( Steve proposed that Christmas), still lived at home, not the career I wanted, and was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. However, as time went on I realized that everything happened for a reason. Things also fall into place when they are supposed to. People jump into marriages, live together, have children or constantly make compulsive decisions all because it’s what they believe they should do but not necessarily ready for. We get pressure from family, friends, society and ourselves when we should just relax and let things happen naturally. Now don’t get me wrong, do I believe it’s wrong to have plans and goals? No not at all, you should strive for greatness, but don’t beat yourself up about it.

So I say this in close, things will happen at the right time. It may not be YOUR “perfect” time but it will come. In the mean time, love yourself and what you have now!

Motivational Monday’s: 2 choices

If you are not happy about something in your life, you have 2 choices: Accept it or Change it.

It seems hard but it’s the truth and the reality.

I can admit that lately I’ve been going up and down with my weight and it’s made me feel down about myself. However, the reality is this: I have a choice to accept the way I look and feel sad or change it by doing what I need to do so that I can be happy.

What goals are you trying to make but it just seems like it’s impossible? A career move, your dream home or fitness goal? Trust, if it was meant to be easy, it would be done by all. Making the choice to change also means that you need positive energy surrounding you. Do not be around Debbie downers or doubters. No worries you Can do this! I believe in you but you Need to believe in You.

Let’s encourage each other daily, we will make the best choice.

Motivational Mondays: Stop hating what you aren’t

  Hey all!

I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was pleasant.

Now we are off to a new week and as you know today is Motivational Monday’s here on my blog.

I saw this quote on Pinterest and I had to share it! This is so true, we are constantly  beating ourselves up because we aren’t who or where we will believe we should be in life. However, do we ever take the moment to say: I’m thankful for what I do have and where I have the potential to go. I do believe that we should not settle or become stagnant in our lives, we should always show growth and work towards improvements.

Always strive for more, push yourself to take risks. You really don’t know how successful you can become without trying. I’m here for you and if you want to reach out feel free to email me at: nicolecherise723@gmail.com

Daydreaming

Daydreaming,

Deep in my thoughts. Thinking of the master plan…

I want to fly high above the clouds

It would be perfect for hubby and I to conquer the world as King and Queen and set the throne for our little prince

Not a care in the world, no sadness, no pain, no sickness, just pure bliss… Sounds like Heaven to me.

*snaps*

Sigh… It can be and it will be. Need the pen and paper to create the gateway to this successful journey

Motivation Monday’s: using your gifts

Hey all!

Happy Monday to you! You know it’s Motivational Monday’s and today’s message is using your gifts.

This is a lesson that I too, am working towards doing. I believe we all have skills that make us stand out from others and it would be good if expand on it. It could be the start of your own business, a hobby or volunteering your gifts to give back to the community.

I also believe that if even if you want to volunteer your services, it could make you happier. By giving back to others and helping them in need, that could raise your self esteem and you will feel good about yourself.

Think about it, you never know friends.

Ohh baby it’s hot! Fitness goals

The summer is here, so you know what that means… Bring the Heat!

As person with a MS diagnosis, it’s important to keep cool during the high temps. Water is your best friend because it hydrates the body so well.

I have fitness goals and I’m excited that it’s the summer because I can enjoy the pool, walks (especially with baby boy) and gym. I checked the scale today and it read 146.5! I haven’t seen that number since I got in engaged in 2010. I want to be 140 by my 30th birthday on July 23rd and maintain a comfortable weight for myself. I plan to continue to drink water, exercise at least 3 times a week( even at home), yoga and being mindful of what I’m eating.

Do you guys have fitness goals?

Thanks!

The little things

One of my bestfriends came in town to visit my son and I. It was very delightful to spend the day with her. All we did was talk, grab a delicious meal and walked the mall. It may seem like no big deal but it’s the little moments like this that mean so much to me.

I feel like we get so consumed with all of the stressors and chaos in life that something as intimate as a telephone conversation or enjoying quality time gets taken for granted.
We have to do better for our own sanity. It’s only one life and it is short, so try to make each day count!

What does success mean to you?

We often talk out being rich and successful yet many of us haven’t scratched the surface to what that requires. I too, can admit that I want to be successful and do what my heart desires like many. The question becomes, “why aren’t you living your successful life like the next up and coming person?” The answer: Committment. I was listening to a video by Ms. Marshawn Evans of marshawnevans.com and she made perfect sense.

Think about the things in life for you that are going great… More than likely it’s something we all are committed to doing. Now think about that one aspect of your life that isn’t how you expect it should be, it’s very possible that it may be something you are not committed to and fear is apart of that void.

I have so many ideas and I know in my heart and soul what I’m meant to do but the fear of failing always creeps onto my shoulder. However, you know the difference between us and those who are entrepreneurs? Having the fear and then stepping out on faith. When you give it your all aka “Committment”, you are nervous of the outcome but you also realize you can never give up and that’s when you take that leap!

We are all made for greatness and we will get there. What’s your passion? Or what would make you successful?

Believe it… See it

or should you see it first to believe it?

Success, many of us are scared of it. We have talents that possibly can build empires, yet we are scared of failure, scared to get out of our comfort zone. Many have to be convinced that the plan will work if not then they will not believe it. This is the difference between those who make their dreams a reality and those who keep dreaming.

Timing can be wrong, struggles can appear but I believe in you beauties, I believe in me. Let’s do this!

Nikki
