Talkers and Walkers

Hi friends! I’m a big advocate on support systems. One thing I realize from personal experience is that when you are at your lowest and darkest moments in life, very few are around. People who promise to be there till the end, suddenly are “ghost”. It’s all good though, just weed out the unnecessary people in your life or you can keep them at a distance. Cherish the loved ones who are loyal.

Where is the love Wednesday: loyalty

How much does loyalty mean to you? Do you live by the loyalty code? Are you Loyal?

Time and time again, I hear people say “loyalty outweighs everything” or “blood makes you related but loyalty makes you family”. I have to say that my loyalty lies with my family and closest friends. I’m not a confrontational person, however, if you disrespect them then you just disrespected me. I have their back and they have mine so the loyalty is reciprocated.

What about those who show loyalty but it’s not given back? We all have been there. That family member who always needs you but turns ship when you need them; that childhood friend who always disappears when dark times happen; the “love” of your life who claims they hold you down but is disrespectful on many levels; the employer who promised a promotion  but it never happened. It truly hurts and is frustrating.

Stay true to those who are true to you back. Like Drake says ” know yourself, know your worth”. How do you Know someone is loyal? They are loyal when you don’t have any doubts in your heart about him or her.

Where is the love Wednesday: stepping out of the box

Hey all!

In today’s, “Where is the love Wednesday”, I want to discuss stepping out of the box.

Many times I hear people say that they are tired of the types of people they have been dating or I only attract this type of person blah blah blah. Ok, my two cents, if someone finds you attractive that’s exactly what it is, now the type that you give your time and energy to are on you.

I’m sure many won’t agree but unfortunately the truth hurts. You can’t say I attract only crazy people when that’s not true. You are attractive to a quiet/reserved person, a scholar, an entrepreneur, etc. it’s who YOU decides who can take up your time.

My additional two cents would be to step out of the box. Date someone that you wouldn’t normally give a chance to. You never know what you learn from them and their culture. We ultimately need love, support and loyalty. You never know, that person could have been very close and worth it. In life we all take chances, stepping out of the box could be a great one!
