Where is the Love for the MS Warriors? Right here!!!
As I’ve written before, March is MS Awareness Month and this week is MS Awareness week. Even with my wobbly legs, I am continuing to Push Through!
I made a choice to show up strong for my loved ones, go to work even when it hurts, and I’ve modified outfits so that I’m comfortable as an effort to beat the challenges of MS. There are some days that I’m not able to give 100% but trust and believe giving 0% is NOT an option .
To my fellow Warriors and Caregivers, I’m proud of you for Not giving up. The Pain and Depression is real and can effect us but I believe in You! I also believe that we will be Victorious against this horrible disease. Therefore, I will continue to send spiritual and positive energy your way! Thank you all for being supportive to me as well!
I hope everyone had an awesome weekend! I did as well, however this morning was another story. Last night I was experiencing nerve burning in my arms and legs. This happens here and there as one the many symptoms that I experience with MS. My neurologist prescribed gabapentin which helps arrange for patients with neurological pain. I felt better within the hour. However, this morning I woke up very drowsy and out of it! My arms and legs were weak and the inside feelings felt horrible. What made me even more upset was holding my 10 month old son, but being scared of dropping him due to the lack of strength I felt in my arms.
I know there are many religions and many who are not religious, but I tell you, I am a believer in God and Jesus. After barely being able to change my son’s pamper, I cried out and prayed for strength. I always do, but today with my son watching me, I had to give my sadness and worries to Him so that I could make it to work and carry out the best of my day. I started to walk around and stretched and started to feel a little stronger. I’m still not 100%, however, I managed to “look” not how I feel.
I share with you because I don’t want you feel defeated for long. Yes, things that we are going through can make us feel like we are in a whole, but remember you don’t have to stay there. Even if praying isn’t an option for you, meditating or self affirmations can help. If that doesn’t help, try not to be prideful, seek resources that can assist you with your issues. I’m here for you as well friends! Drop your email and we can chat. Have a good one!
Have you felt worry or confusion about your current circumstances?
I can say as someone who battles MS, I remind myself that things will getter better even when I feel that I’m not ok. We are warriors not victims and don’t let anyone tell you different. When I hear the word victim, I think of pitty and the attitude of “why me?”. Reality is that if something doesn’t happen to us, it’s a possibility that it could happen to a loved one.
To feel good is to start from within. Try to have a positive attitude, do things that make you happy and surround yourself with others who make life more enjoyable. Do not claim defeat and do not give up on yourself. You are stronger than you think!
In today’s, “Where is the love Wednesday”, I want to discuss stepping out of the box.
Many times I hear people say that they are tired of the types of people they have been dating or I only attract this type of person blah blah blah. Ok, my two cents, if someone finds you attractive that’s exactly what it is, now the type that you give your time and energy to are on you.
I’m sure many won’t agree but unfortunately the truth hurts. You can’t say I attract only crazy people when that’s not true. You are attractive to a quiet/reserved person, a scholar, an entrepreneur, etc. it’s who YOU decides who can take up your time.
My additional two cents would be to step out of the box. Date someone that you wouldn’t normally give a chance to. You never know what you learn from them and their culture. We ultimately need love, support and loyalty. You never know, that person could have been very close and worth it. In life we all take chances, stepping out of the box could be a great one!
