On Monday, I let some people get a hold of my emotions and I grew angry. Unfortunately, I posted my anger on social media and I felt justified. My mood shifted once a friend from high school noticed that I wasn’t in my up-lifting spirits like usual. She told me that my positive posts meant a lot to her. That really made me smile because even though I do want to encourage others, she really encouraged me and having that support is a blessing.
Friends, support goes a long way. When you support others and have support its proof that you are not alone. We All have issues that are very similar to one another yet we quickly put each other down. We should show more love and kindness because it’s good for the soul. Make love not War.
So let someone know they are appreciated because you never know how much that little bit of encouragement can help.
This is a topic that has been weighing heavy on my mind lately. I feel it is sad that when you are doing something positive or starting a new venture in life, those who are the closest to you aren’t as supportive as strangers.
Friends, please don’t think that just because you do something that everyone has to respond all the time because they too, have lives. However, if you show support, it’s natural to want it back. Sometimes the issue is : people would rather support you when you are “on” meaning you already reached a successful peak.
My advice to myself and to share with you is: believe in yourself. We shouldn’t wait on the validation of others to know we are doing something right. Not everyone will cheer for your success but can easily cheer for your downfall. Stay humble and stay true to self, and the rest will work out regardless of who’s support you don’t get. Stay blessed friends, stay motivated.
It amazes me that whenever someone ask questions about my journey with MS, I end up learning about their own battles. Some people are private about their different ailments and some are like myself who are open about it.
So what does this tell us? Everyone battles something rather it’s physical or mental and we should be more sensitive to one another. Sometimes it’s the support or smile from someone that truly helps us feel good. With anything that you are being treated for, please educate yourself. We can’t rely solely on the professionals. Take everyday with a stride even when it’s hard to do so. I hope you feel good and better!
We have to feel good not only physically but mentally and emotionally too.
This past month has been a roller coaster of emotions for me because of the sudden death of my father. Do I feel I will ever be the same? No because a piece of me isn’t here on earth anymore, however I’m stronger.
God knew exactly what He was doing with me battling MS, becoming a wife and a mother. In my relationship with God, I truly feel He knew that I had to go through some obstacles so that I would be prepared for one of the biggest obstacles to face. On that same note, He knew what type man I needed to be my rock, to be strong for me when I can’t at the moment. I thank God every day for my husband, Stephen. He knew that our son would have such a great personality that whenever I get upset or I’m not feeling well, I would automatically smile and feel joy.
I’m not 100% myself, however little by little, I am getting stronger in all categories. What about you all?
How do you feel physically, mentally and emotionally?
At some point in our lives we will hit that brick wall. We may feel like there are no corners to turn or no way to climb ourselves out. This feeling may be due to illness, death, relationship issues, financial burdens, jobs etc.. Things don’t just go away however, be brave enough to buckle your boot straps and to face your problem head on. Will things be easy? Of course not but it won’t break you. We are stronger than we think. Please believe a shift will come your way, stay strong.
Illness, one thing we don’t want to discuss, see or have to deal with. It’s rough to go through an illness and it’s even harder when someone you love is sick. It’s hard for a caregiver and loved ones because they would give anything to take the pain away or get angry that there is Nothing they can do. But there is something you can do.
If they have a rare disease, educate yourself. Even if you have heard of it, gain knowledge of the disease so that you can try to understand what’s happening to his or her body.
Be supportive to your loved one. They will feel isolated, angry, sad and more. If they need help, do so. Many people (like myself) have pride and won’t ask for help but reassure him or her that you will come over and help even if it’s to do the dishes. You would be surprised how happy your generosity can help.
Be strong but realize they are strong too. You should be sensitive to them and their needs. Many times someone battling a disease will push their limits but if he or she says that they can do something believe them and let them get their rest. As a person who fights against Multiple Sclerosis, I do push myself and “appear” fine when in reality, I’m not. The strength of my husband and parents are what keeps me going. My family and friends are wonderful as well. They all understand that when I need rest or I’m not feeling well, I can’t always jump and be on the go like I used to.
I pray they find a cure to the diseases that our loved ones are battling and for our loved ones who have passed away. Until then, cherish your loved ones and just let them remember how much they mean to you because you truly mean the most to them, trust me 🙂

Today is what I like to call in my blog “motivational Monday’s”. This is also apart of the scheduled blog entries that I discussed in a previous post. Today, I want to discuss “Hope”.
What is Hope? I feel hope is the anticipation of a positive outcome for the future.
This hits close to home for me especially on today. If you have been following my blog, you may know that I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) 5 years ago. With this debilitating disease, I find myself in a battle of emotions constantly. On one hand, I remain strong and keep in mind that things could be worse. On the other hand, I’m frustrated with the symptoms and the potential ending result of the disease. Hope is what keeps me grounded.
I have Hope that scientists will find a cure, I have hope that no more damage will happen to my central nervous system, I have hope that I may feel normal again. Besides my wonderful support system, having hope, makes me not want to give up even when at times I want to.
What is hope for you? It may be career, relationship goals, self help. Whatever it may be, try to think positive and not give up. It’s ok to prepare yourself for the not so great events but it’s good to always have hope for a better outcome.

Many who know me, are aware that I battle Multiple Sclerosis (MS). I was diagnosed at the age of 24, a few months before my 25th birthday. The journey hasn’t always been great however, if it wasn’t for my faith and support system, I don’t know how or where I would be.
I made a choice that giving up wasn’t an option, especially when I have people who need me. Regardless of how unpredictable MS may be, I know that God is with me as well.
So, I’m constantly hearing “you don’t look sick” or “I would never know” and it’s because I continue to smile. I’ve adapted the ability to pretend in public that all is well even when it’s not. However, God, my husband, parents extended family and close friends have seen me at my worst. None of them turned their backs on me when I needed it the most, especially now that I’m a mother. Words can never truly express how much they mean to me therefore I can’t give up. Giving up is NOT an option. Thank you God, thank you all, you saved me.
